Update from Wild Thyme
Aargh! It is so upsetting that once again, we must cancel, postpone, or amend plans for the next month. We had six private functions and events booked, including the Charity Shoot Fundraising Dinner for Lawrence Home Nursing, which very sadly has had to be postponed until next year and only one of our private dinners is able to go ahead.
This does, however, leave us with the possibility of holding an extra last minute Dining Club dinner here, next Saturday 26 June as well as an additional Take Me Home service next Friday, 25 June. So, if your plans have changed too, or you feel in need of a treat, then please do book yourselves a lovely meal either to enjoy at home or at the restaurant.
Please take a moment to read about (and support if you can), Sally and Fiona’s endeavours to walk a marathon in support of Macmillan Cancer this July. Training has been going on quietly for the past few months and we could really do with some money behind us now to spur us on as we approach the big event!
We still have spaces on the FarmED dinner, which will go ahead as planned with social distancing and the rule of 6 in play. This really is a fabulous new venue, in a stunning spot just outside Shipton-under-Wychwood, and we are extremely excited to be holding our first “offsite” event here in a few weeks. There’s also still time to book Take Me Home meals throughout July so do make sure you get your dose of Wild Thyme this summer…

Wild Thyme at FarmED – Dining Club Event

Based just outside Shipton- under Wychwood, this fabulous new venue (see below for more information on FarmED www.farm-ed.co.uk) offers a large, light and airy space for our first supper club in a different location. Nick has devised a lovely summer menu, using much of the produce from the farm.
This special Dining Club starts with a glass of fizz and a chance to mingle, (Covid restrictions permitting) before we sit for dinner at 8pm. There will be a full bar and the opportunity to enjoy our choice of wines paired to each course, or simply choose from our wine list on the night. We are currently taking table reservations for between two and six guests but may be able to accommodate larger tables once we are confident that current restrictions are going to be lifted.

In addition to the the FarmED Dining Club, we still have availability for our Dining Club on Saturday, 19 June. So, if you’ve been meaning to call a friend and arrange a catch up this provides a great opportunity. Remember numbers are limited with social distancing with the rule of six in play and with to two households but you can be sure of a very warm welcome, great food and a safe environment. Please see our Dining Club page for full details on how these events will run and rest assured that if these events are unable to go ahead, a full refund will be given, or bookings transferred. To make a Dining Club booking, email email@example.com or call 01608 645060.
The restaurant is available to book for private dining events of between 10 and 30 guests, (from 21st June pending the lifting of restrictions). We are also happy to discuss catering for you at home or at another venue.
More information and some suggested menus will feature on our website soon but we can also create a bespoke menu for your occasion. If you have a celebration in mind, please do get in touch.
Take Me Home
This home dining experience has been so popular during lockdown that we have decided to continue with our weekly Friday service. It has become apparent that there are many reasons why dining out may not always be on the cards and our Take Me Home option offers as close to a restaurant meal as possible, oven ready to enjoy at your convenience.
We shall be taking half term off to spend with Belle, so there are no meals on 28 May or 4 June but this service will continue from Friday, 11 June and menus for the rest of this month can be found on our Take Me Home page and are a great option for a personal treat, a gift for a birthday or small get togethers.
Cooking with our community
We have been so pleased to be able to put our skills and time to good use during this past year in working with St Mary’s Church, cooking their Mary’s Meals for families in our local community. We continue to build on this as we work together with them on the Branch out and Cook project.
This project aims to educate individuals and their families on how to cook cost effective, nutritious meals and together we have built a 10-week programme which involves Nick teaching here in the Wild Thyme kitchen. We’ve already had two lovely young Mum’s graduate and are looking forward to welcoming a couple of students from Chipping Norton School to the programme, after the easter holidays.
We are also delighted to be catering for 130 plus guests attending the Lawrence Home Nursing Charity Clay Shoot Reception and Dinner in late June; helping this amazing local charity raise much needed funds after a year with no events. www.lawrencehomenursing.org.

"Every single course was delicious and was presented with care and pride. Really enjoyed our evening out. The service was polite and friendly and the chef is excellent."
The best of the best!!!!
"I was recommended to go to this restaurant through a work colleague and I would highly recommend to everyone!! It is first class food and everything from the bread, through to desert was second to none!! The flavours and infusion of food left us totally satisfied but not overly full which you usually feel after a 3 course meal. Wine list was also amazing, service fantastic and can’t wait to go back!! Thank you thank you thank you."
Worthy of a Michelin Star
"Delicious food. Helpful, friendly and knowledgeable staff. A true gem of the Cotswolds. You'll need to book though – it's popular and rightly so!"
